The only authentic passage in WHILE YOU WERE HAVING FUN is line one. Those ten words reflected my reticent wayback-machine girlfriend who often chose to keep sensitive thoughts to herself. Otherwise, the rest was just pure imagination.

Musically, the intention was a fabricated nod to Arthur Alexander. I wanted to write something with indigo shades of rhythm, blues and soul. For my money, this song could not have been in better hands, ears or hearts. Bandmates Beckett and Yourell exacted as well-organized, musical systole-and-diastole anchors.

And Bittel - with those oh-to-die-for misterioso, snake-eyed
