For this song, my lyrical inspiration came from virtuoso Aimee Mann. I read an interview wherein she gave songwriting do's and don't's. One of her know-it-all, word-to-the-wise instructions was to never use cliché units of language like heart, rain, train or baby. Especially baby. To myself I thought 'Who made her the word police?'
In resistance to authority, I immediately titled my tune BABY, BABY and from there concocted my song.
Thanks, Aim!

lyrics
Baby, Baby
(Words & music by Michael Mazzarella)
Came to see you baby
Were you crying baby, baby?
Tried to reach you baby
You were slipping baby, baby
Want to hold you baby
Will you let me baby, baby?
Tell me something maybe
Anything now baby, baby
Cheer up, if you will
Cheer up, I will show my love
Cheer up, better still
Listen now and think us over
Thought about us baby
We can make it baby, baby
Talk about us baby
I won't fake it baby, baby
Cheer up, if you will
Cheer up, I will show my love
Cheer up, better still
Listen now and think us over
Can't you understand we should be together?
In this place of pain we are so alone
I will take a stand if you take me closer
I will be your man everyday
Came to see you baby
Were you crying baby, baby?
Tried to reach you baby
You were slipping baby, baby
Say you love me baby
Say you'll be my baby, baby
Say you love me baby
Say you'll be my baby, baby
Say you love me baby
Say you'll be my baby, baby
Say you'll be my baby
